Please note the attached Event Incident Form regarding an AIMSS review that we hope you will take part in. This review is an opportunity to share knowledge and experiences to aid in the development and improvement of our sport.
I am contacting you, as your motor sport car club recently held a CAMS sanctioned rally in 2014.
You may be aware that The Australian Institute for Motor Sport Safety is conducting on behalf of CAMS a review into Rallying in Australia. As part this review, we have undertaken a comprehensive analysis of all CAMS archived rally incident reports since 2006. It is critical we now ‘capture’ to include in that analysis the most recent incidents. Most importantly, we need to collate these incidents as entered into the AIMSS incident report form (sample attached), in addition to any CAMS reporting that may have already been completed.
As such we would ask for your assistance in this review by providing contact details for any competitor involved in any competition incident during any of your 2014 events, in which the vehicle sustained anything greater than modest repair, or such incident with minor repair had the potential to have caused injury or significantly greater damage (even if it did not). In other words, there was perhaps an element of luck that prevented something more serious in the same circumstance, and in your professional judgement such incident would add to the review.
All incident reporting will remain confidential and is expressly for the purpose of safety in rally review, from which ultimately we all benefit.
Your assistance in this instance is crucial and as such we would kindly ask that you submit competitor contact details via email to firstname.lastname@example.org by 11th July 2014. Alternatively if you are not able to provide their contact details for reasons of privacy, could you please forward this request to them.
Could you please confirm the receipt of this communication and provide an indication of the number of incidents (if any) during your event?
AIMSS thanks you for your co-operation.
