RAA – they do more than you think
RAA has returned as naming rights sponsor for the 2017 Southern Rally, run by the Southern Districts Car Club. Once again competitors, officials and spectators will be returning to the Southern Fleurieu Peninsula to tackle the challenging forest and breathtaking council stages.
Competitors will again be using RallySafe devices to ensure the crew’s safety will be monitored in real time and the hire of which will come at no additional cost for the competitor, due entirely to RAA’s community sponsorship program.
The 2017 RAA Southern Rally will boast around 120kms of competitive and less than 100km transport, making the event one of the most compact and cost effective rounds of the year with all stages within 100km of the Adelaide CBD.
Adam Tillett is this year’s Clerk of Course, supported by an experienced team of dedicated officials determined to make this year’s event the most competitor, crew & spectator friendly event on the calendar.
The event will offer 3 levels of entry, SARC (pacenoted), Clubman & Introductory (non-pacenoted).
Excitingly for competitors the Balquhidder stage returns although not in the exact same format as last year and the organisers have added another stage on the undulating council course with spectacular views of Kangaroo Island and Backstairs Passage. For the forest-lovers, there are no shortage of visits to the Second Valley plantation with the return of a former favourite Mt Hayfield.
Supp. Regs. are under construction and will be out shortly, Competitors have around 12 weekends left to have their machines ready, don’t leave it until the last minute and miss out on the opening round of the five-round 2017 SARC.
More information will appear soon on www.ssdcc.asn.au.
