CAMS Rally Regulations UPDATE
CAMS has today published the following:
- CAMS Bulletin B17/006 Rally/Road NRC Appendix F; Energy Absorbing Safety Foam.
This Bulletin will permit the fitment of Energy Absorbing Safety Foam, or commonly known as Door Foam, to ALL cars that are within a CAMS Rally Car Group. This non-compulsory (except where the Rally Group specifies its use i.e. G4, AP4) addition is seen as a further step to improving the safety of a Rally car in side impact incidents. The fitment of this foam will need to be done in conjunction with the FIA and GIMSS Guidelines for Rally Door Foam Installation which are also published in the Rally/Road section of the CAMS Website. As a new regulation, although please remember it is not compulsory, it is considered that the introduction of the permitted use of rally door foam will pose some questions and even issues as it is applied to the range of possible cars. Should any queries be raised by competitors or further information is required please send all requests to technical@cams.com.au.

The National Rally Code (NRC) update has been conducted to include the detail of Bulletin B17/006 above. Further to this the NRC has also had the following completed to rectify identified issues:
• Reformatting – with improved defining of each regulation point.
• Review of each internal and external document reference.
• Inclusion of ALL NRC Appendices: A to F.
• Inclusion of images corrupted in previous uploads.

The Schedule R update has rectified some errors with the initial upload, mostly to do with some file corruption, and the fix of the references and alignment of these references with the revised NRC.

Given the revision it is strongly advised to all events organisers to ensure that they review and check any Supplementary Regulations for events, especially where those regulations refer specifically to Regulations of the NRC etc. as those references may no longer be valid.
We thank the CAMS Rally community for their patience as these issues have been resolved following the damaged sustained to the CAMS systems during our crisis between Christmas and New Year, which saw us having to go back and re-write or configure a range of Documents and resources we have published.
Should any issue be identified please do not hesitate to contact Scott McGrath directly on 0488066236 or via email scott.mcgrath@cams.com.au to identify the issue, and for it to be resolved.
